Underbody Accessories Underglow FAQ
Do I need special tools or wiring skills?

No advanced wiring skills are required. Basic tools like screwdrivers or zip ties may help with mounting, but everything you need is included.

Will underbody lighting drain my battery?

No. Our LEDs are energy-efficient and designed to run safely off your vehicle's 12V system without significant power draw.

Can I control the lights from my phone?

Absolutely! Our Bluetooth Pro controller lets you customize colors, patterns, and brightness directly from your smartphone. A handheld remote is also included.

Are the lights waterproof and durable?

Yes, our underbody kits are built to withstand rain, dirt, and road debris. They’re IP-rated for weather resistance and designed for long-lasting performance.

Do the lights only glow in one color?

No. With our RGBW and Flow Series kits, you can choose from millions of colors and effects, including chasing, fading, and strobe patterns.

Are underbody lights legal on the street?

Laws vary by state. Some colors, like red or blue, may be restricted to emergency vehicles. Always check your local regulations before driving with underglow.

Will cops pull you over for underglow?

Underglow lighting is illegal in some states, including Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington. Other states have restrictions, such as allowing it only with specific colors like white, yellow, or amber, or prohibiting its use on public roads. Because laws vary significantly by state and even by local city ordinances, it's essential to research your specific area's vehicle lighting regulations before installing or using underglow lights.

States with Specific Underglow Restrictions:
California: Underglow is permitted on private property but not on public roads.
Alaska: Only white, yellow, or amber underglow lights are allowed.
New York: Underglow is legal only in white, and it cannot flash or move.
Vermont: Underglow cannot be turned on while the vehicle is being driven.

General Considerations
Local Laws: Even in states where underglow is generally allowed, local city or community ordinances may still prohibit it.
Color Restrictions: Many states have laws against red or blue underglow lights.
Public vs. Private Property: Some states only allow underglow on private property.
Fines: Violations of underglow lighting laws are often considered civil infractions and can result in a fine.

What Should I Check Before Ordering?

Measure the areas you want to illuminate. Compare included strip lengths, mounting requirements, LED type, power requirements and the controller options on the product page.

Can I Match Other Lighting on My Build?

Check the LED type, voltage, connections and controller compatibility for each kit. Sharing a color name does not guarantee that different systems can be connected together.
